Sarah and Lee Waters

We had the pleasure of meeting Sarah at The Hilton Brighton wedding Fayre in 2015 & after hearing her play we knew we had to book Sarah to play at our wedding on the Brighton Bandstand in August 2015.

Sarah helped make our wedding the most amazing day.

We met before the wedding to discuss playlists & Sarah even took on the challenge of learning one of our favourite songs, Caribbean Blue by Enya.

On our wedding day Sarah was amazing & played as backing music to one of our bridesmaids singing whilst we signed the register.

We would highly recommend Sarah to anyone & if you are looking for a very talented violinist look no further.

"I would just like to say that we were delighted with the performance that you gave us as the cabaret at our dance.

We were a little apprehensive of having a violinist as an entertainer but these proved to be totally unfounded and the feedback from the dancers showed that the selection of pieces to play managed to satisfy the variety of tastes amongst the audience.

As dancers, music and its presentation is important and to gain their praise is indeed an accolade.

Many thanks."

“The Royal Air Force Association at Shoreham have had the pleasure of being entertained by Sarah at their monthly branch meetings many times.
They always look forward to the return of this very talented violinist and her very varied performance.”

Birch Grove Nursing Home

“Sarah has been coming to Birch Grove Nursing Home for more than 4 years. She is talented, cheerful, and has a friendly manner.
Sarah demonstrates great enthusiasm in her music towards the residents of the home. Listening to her playing the violin is enjoyable, age appropriate and dementia friendly. She engages and connects the residents to each other mutually and some of them are impatient to know when she is coming next.
Sarah is an asset for the home. Every month she shows great interest in her variety of music she plays and most importantly she brings merriment and happiness to our residents.
Without any doubt her contribution is valued to people with dementia.”

"We had the pleasure of Sarah's musical talents at our civil partnership. She was wonderfully amicable regarding our “play list” which was eclectic to say the least. She certainly can play!! We have no hesitation in recommending Sarah to anyone wanting that special musical moment to come alive.”

"I have been working within the care sector for 3 years and I have spent the last 15 months at a care home in Hove for adults with learning difficulties.
I have had the pleasure of working closely with Sarah Milner. I would describe her relationship with our clients as magical, she provides a live violin performance which at the same time is very interactive.
She has built a very good relationship with all the guys here and always has a smile on her face very professional and caring."

"Whilst working at the residential home I used to work at in Hove, every Thursday Sarah used to come play her violin for the residents. Coming from a voilin background when I was younger whilst playing in Junior School - I wasn't the only one who loved her music.
Every time she used to visit, the residents would always look forward to her beautiful playing and were always excited to see her. She would put a smile on everyones face and even make the residents dance whilst playing - it was amazing to see them so happy and content with such a beautiful instrument and such a beautiful voilinist.

Sarah was such a credit to our home and always made me excited for working on a Thursday due to our shared love of the Sound of Music. (Which I always made her play!) One of our residents who would usually sit in a chair would sometimes enjoy it so much that he would stand up from his seat, shout and dance in a circle in the middle of the room and another would constantly be smiling and waving her arms around, purely because of how energetic and brilliant Sarah was.

Sarah would always bring such delightful music to the home and was also an amazing friend to work with. Seeing her do something she loved whilst making our residents so happy would just make my Thursday morning."

We got married at Ashdown Park Hotel on the 18th May 2014, we loved the idea of having a violinist perform during our ceremony so made contact with Sarah.
We were delighted that as part of the process Sarah came and met with us at the venue, and played a piece for us to hear. We decided to have her play as I walked down the aisle as well as during the service as we wanted it to not feel rushed, adding some live music helps fill out the time and gives everyone a chance to absorb the moment!

Sarah helped us to select the pieces that we went for, and also assisted with the timing to make sure that it fit perfectly with the bridal entrance.

She is incredibly professional, polite and cheerful, and I would recommend her to any discerning couple looking to make their day extra special and memorable

Sussex Wildlife Trust

The Sussex Wildlife Trust was delighted when Sarah Milner agreed to play at our Musical Trail - an event enjoyed by over 100 people who were 'surprised' by hidden musicians placed at secret locations around the nature reserve at Woods Mill near Henfield. To hear live music played in the open air is an experience not to be missed and Sarah delighted our audience with her violin music. Sarah supported the Sussex Wildlife Trust again when she attended the then Springwatch Festival (now Nature Festival) at Stanmer Park in Brighton - playing to an appreciative audience of all ages.

A musical event with Sarah is a pleasure to attend - her wonderful playing, her friendly and welcoming manner and her absolute professionalism in choosing just the right music to play to entertain her audience.

A belated but big thank you for playing so beautifully at our event for older people last Monday. Everyone loved it and we have had so many comments about how wonderfully you played.

So thank you!

Just to let you know that the residents thoroughly enjoyed the performance yesterday, best violinist they've had, so they tell me.

Sarah has visited BUPA Downlands Park Nursing Home regularly for over 4 years. She is a very talented young musician who has a vast repertoire of music from Irish Jigs to Classical, Show Music and Abba! Her sunny, bubbly personality is an added bonus. Both myself and the residents love her dearly.

Sarah Milner - Biography 3

We had Sarah Milner to play her violin for our Dad's 80th Birthday party. Sarah took great care over arranging her part in our special day, playing a selection of jigs and reels, some classical pieces and some lovely Irish songs to sing along to. From 80 to 4 years old, everyone either danced around Sarah as she played, or sat listening and enjoying the happy atmosphere Sarah created.
We can't wait to hear her again.

Dear Sarah

On behalf of the lady members of West Hove Golf Club I must thank you for entertaining us so wonderfully at our Christmas lunch. The range and choice of music were perfect and you soon had us singing along with the carols and tapping our feet to other well-know melodies.

The quality of your playing was outstanding throughout and you linked the music together beautifully with your lovely sense of humour. Our committee has already commented on how you helped make the day so very enjoyable and we would have no hesitation in recommending you to others.

We wish you every success in your ventures and feel sure that many others will share our pleasure at your playing.

Kingsland House

Sarah Milner has performed for our residents on several occasions now and she is always received with great enthusiasm. She is an amazingly talented young lady with an incredible understanding of her audience, and with the aid of her music she has been able to encourage all of our residents to join in and sing along to the vast selection of tunes she plays to them.
Sarah always delivers an enjoyable and memorable performance for our residents and we look forward to many, many more visits.

A 1st class act I would recommend time and time again.

Sarah has been coming to Summerlands for since 2012 and during that time she has built up a great rapport with our residents.  Even when new residents arrive, Sarah manages to engage them very quickly.  Without exception all of our residents enjoy listening to Sarah’s music, whether it is classical or more contemporary; and they all ask when she is due to play again.  One of our residents rarely leaves her room, but she will quite happily venture downstairs to listen to Sarah’s music when she comes to entertain.  Somehow Sarah manages to ‘speak’ to all of our residents through her music, and after her session the residents are uplifted and visibly moved.  The residents often speak about Sarah’s beautiful music to their family when they next visit, and the joy that is shared is lovely to see.  Well done Sarah; we look forward to your next visit.
